Julian Assange is Melbourne, from the days when he set up our first public access ISP in the 90s, to helping the Victorian Police bust a child exploitation ring in the darker corners of what was then the fledgling internet.
Studying at Melbourne Uni, he became a leader in encryption technologies and was one of the first people to warn us of the extent of the Government’s ability to spy on our telecommunications. It was here in Melbourne that the maths behind WikiLeaks was developed, and here that the concept of WikiLeaks was first discussed and developed.

It’s here in Melbourne that the campaign to besmirch him has been the strongest, and it’s here in Melbourne that he needs our support.
